Research Group

I really didnt know where to put this but I have been asked by my research Doctor to get the thoughts of Mesothelioma Patients from now on of trials.
So this is a wonderful chance to play a part and I want you to be a panel of patients where I will ask from time to time about trials.

So the first one is this -Its about Phase 2 of MK3475

Dear Mrs Nye,

With respect to our recent conversation I would like to show you a copy of the 2nd line trial proposal.

We are trying to investigate the role of pemetrexed rechallenge in the second line setting in MPM.
At the moment we have secured funding for pemetrexed from Lilly, Southampton Clinical Trials Unit have agreed to support and provide all trial running facilities etc and I have submitted this to the Lung CSG of the NCRI.
Would value your thoughts.
Some form of patient/public involvement would be helpful.

Now my answer was
Dear Dr Shah.
To be honest my thoughts are what a shame chemotherapy has to be added to Immunotherapy but then that means Im being selfish as I have had such a great result on MK3475 of an almost 50% shrinkage (I will know on Tuesday if I have gone over the 50% as I have had a scan on Friday)
If a Chemo has to be used then pemetrexed would be the best, as it has softer side effects to the patient, Cisplatin being so hard to bear due to the side effects of the Peripheral Neuropathy
Vinorelbine is not successful amongst my Facebook Friends around the world. So Pemetrexed is the better choice there as well.

So can I have your views now please and I will pass them back
